It’s All Good Radio Show October 26 2017

In this week’s show we start by shining the spotlight on Salcombe in Devon, where Anna Turns and her daughter aged 6 are on a mission to help Salcombe become the UK’s first plastic clever town and they are encouraging us all to do our bit!

We then go onto share news about The Element School in Paignton who are hosting their very own one day Education Festival called EdFest SouthWest on Friday 27th October which has been designed for teachers, students and those who are passionate about our environment.

Following on from this we talk about the new public engagement campaign from Our Bright Future entitled #Owning It  which brings together all the Our Bright Future projects in an united campaign to show the actions that young people are taking to help the environment.

Our next feature is news on a new way of travelling which is brought to us by http://www.hiyacar.co.uk – a people to people car sharing platform which connects private car owners to car hirers in the London area.

Moving onto the Global stage, we shine the spotlight on the new Prime Minister for New Zealand Jacinda Ardern who has committed the country to erasing its carbon footprint by the middle of the century.

More good news for wildlife continues with the opening of Walthamstow Wetlands – a full operational 211 hectare site which is now open for visitors 7 days a week.

With Autumnwatch on our TV screens for the week, we highlight a citizen science project entitled “Seabirdwatch” which was featured on the programme and encourage listeners to take part in capturing the data they need.

We finish the show with a reflection written by Jewel Fries, founder of Rise Like Air blog.
