In this week’s show Debbie and David invite representatives from Save Cary Green to the studio to discuss their campaign and ways in which Torbay residents can have their voices heard about this area of Torbay.
We go onto discuss International Peace Day and how the creation of the community engagement experience Compassion Games: Survival of the Kindest invites people around the world to challenge one another to reveal and promote acts of compassion that better our lives, our communities and all life on Earth.
Our next feature focuses on Meat Free Week and we discuss our own “experiment” in transitioning to a vegetarian diet and what has worked for us. David shares his own recipe for a delicious vegetarian curry and highlights how high profile sportsman Lewis Hamilton is taking his own approach to pursuing a diet free of animal products.
David goes onto talk about a fantastic initiative by Hounslow Council who are currently converting their streetlights to energy efficient LEDs and in doing so they are integrating electric vehicle charging points in the base of those streetlamps and we encourage all councils to take an equally forward thinking approach.
We finish the show by talking about recent programming on TV which has been focused on how to stay young and healthy and how there is proof to show that learning a new skill can significantly improve cognitive abilities.
