In this week’s show we talk about Phil Spencer’s Find Me A Home programme in which he helped two families who were experiencing difficulties in finding a home in London and Kent and we talk about the options available through community housing schemes
We talk about taking responsibility for your health and how we conduct our own research to understand our health conditions, often using a book entitled Your Body Speaks Your Mind by Deb Shapiro
We start a new section of the show entitled Volunteer Opportunity of the Week in conjunction with Volunteer Centre Torbay in which we showcase opportunities to volunteer here in Torbay
We encourage everyone to make a date with nature by taking part in Torbay’s Big Butterfly Count happening in July and August.
We then go to celebrate the news that St John Ambulance are celebrating their 140 year anniversary of helping to save lives and we do a short feature on their work
We share news of the Purple Angel Restaurant Service which encourages restaurants in Torbay and across the world to take steps to become more Dementia aware.
We finish the show by taking about the new innovation GravityLight which is a safe, low cost alternative to kerosene lighting.
