The Portraits Rhythms of The World Album Launch
Anglo-Irish alt-folk duo The Portraits, aka husband and wife songwriters Jeremy and Lorraine Millington from Galway and Bristol respectively. Their sound is a warm fusion of folk, music theatre, jazz and classical styles with beautiful harmonies and their material is strongly influenced by their own experiences of travelling the world and encountering its forgotten corners.

Based in Brixham on South Devon’s coast, Tom Birbeck & James Doddrell formed ARC Marine with the passion to regenerate our fragile and damaged marine ecosystems. Having spent long hours experimenting with various prototypes, they have now invented a number of products ranging from artificial reef modules to sea grass habitats. In early 2016 they applied and successfully gained Investment from Virgin StartUp, and is proud to have been officially named a Virgin StartUp Ambassador in 2016!

The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge & Prince Harry talk about their goal to shine a spotlight on the power of conversation and discuss bereavement, modern childhood, and dealing with trauma in the workplace. Prince Harry said, “when you speak peoples families and to kids you think ‘wow’ I don’t want them to have to go through the same things; with a little bit of experience you want to help as much as you can” In their FaceTime call, The Duke and Lady Gaga discussed how opening up and having conversations about mental health is vital to ending the stigma that still surrounds these issues. Lady Gaga said she felt people with mental health challenges were ‘not hiding anymore’ and the The Duke added that it is time ‘to feel normal about mental health – it’s the same as physical health’ and that good conversations can ‘really make such a difference.’

Earth Day is an annual event on 22nd April – a day to celebrate the planet and encourage people to be more environmental friendly. The Earth Day theme for 2017 is environmental and climate literacy.
